Demand for electric cars growing strongly

Our autumn has been very strong, and demand for electric cars in particular has grown sharply. Leads for electric cars — contacts from customers expressing interest in buying — have grown by as much as 43% even after the peak summer season, and the turnover rate of our cars has accelerated every month since July. At the same time, we have carried out the three biggest changes in our history: we expanded into the service business by acquiring the SAH service chain, launched an independent condition inspection for used cars — the Rehti certification — and announced exclusive representation of three new car brands in Finland.

Electric cars already make up 29% of leads

"Demand is really strong right now. Electric cars are generating the most interest, and as much as 29% of our leads concern electric cars. Demand for hybrids is also at a good level. Combustion-engine cars still have their own established buyer base too," says Saka's Chief Commercial Officer Jaakko Poukkula.

Sales stable, turnover accelerating

Saka's sales in the third quarter have remained at a high level, and measured by revenue, Saka has stayed the largest operator in the industry for three consecutive months. Revenue by the end of Q3 stands at €591 million, up 3.3% year-on-year.
"October has started very strongly for us, and our stock is turning over at a record pace. Our forecast shows that we will sell well over 4,000 cars this month too. Saka's inventory turnover is by far the highest in our industry, and there are many reasons for that, but above all it comes down to a high-quality, curated stock. That's proof that consumers want our cars," Poukkula continues.

Rehti brings independent condition inspections to the used car trade

Saka's autumn has been a season of change: the acquisition of the SAH car service chain was confirmed in August, and at the start of October we launched Rehti, a model that is entirely new to the industry. It means that every car coming up for sale undergoes a thorough condition inspection, and cars worth more than €10,000 are inspected by a third party, with all findings compiled into a Rehti certificate that customers can view. The battery condition of electric cars and plug-in hybrids is also tested with the Aviloo battery test, and these results are likewise published on the website. "The need for open information shows up in Saka's recent condition-inspection data covering 3,000 cars: 12% of the cars were found to have defects requiring repair or further investigation. A used car doesn't need to be flawless, but today's buyers want to know as precisely as possible what they are buying. That's why we are making information about a car's condition even more transparent," says Saka's Chief Commercial Officer Jaakko Poukkula.

Saka enters the new car business

At the start of October, Saka also announced that it is expanding into new car sales. "We are the first official dealer in Finland for Leapmotor and for Omoda & Jaecoo, imported by RSA. Test drives and pre-sales will begin in October and November 2026. We are now bringing something to the market that has been missing: exceptionally high-quality, modern electric and hybrid cars at prices that make the electrification of driving possible for more and more people," Poukkula concludes.
