Used Hybrid Cars
A hybrid car is an excellent choice when you want to travel short distances on electricity but need the security of a combustion engine for longer trips. Hybrids primarily charge themselves by collecting braking and deceleration energy, but plug-in hybrids can also be charged directly from an electrical outlet.
There are many different types of hybrids.
On average, a rechargeable hybrid can travel 20-40 kilometers, so most commutes can easily be completed using electricity. The newest plug-in hybrids can reach electric ranges of up to one hundred kilometers.
You can identify a plug-in hybrid by the abbreviation PHEV. Popular plug-in hybrids at Saka include the
Volkswagen Passat GTE and
Mercedes-Benz E-Series.
Self-charging hybrids determine on their own when to run on electricity, unless you can adjust the setting through the onboard computer according to your preference. These include models in
Toyota's,
Honda's, and
Lexus's hybrid lineups.
Today, combustion engines are also paired with mild hybrid implementations that don't run fully on electricity, but have an electric motor connected to the engine and transmission that assists with starting and deceleration. You can identify a mild hybrid implementation by the abbreviation MHEV.
