What Cars Are Condition Inspected at Saka and How?
All used cars priced over 10,000 euros in our inventory undergo a condition inspection by a third party. The company performing the inspection varies depending on whether the car was imported from abroad or purchased in Finland as a trade-in or directly from a private seller.
Condition Inspection of Imported Cars by Dekra
Cars imported from abroad by Saka are sourced from partners who operate in accordance with EU laws and follow Saka's supply chain code of ethics – meaning the cars are already in good condition from the outset.
To ensure flawless condition, imported cars are inspected centrally at our logistics center by Dekra. Dekra operates globally in 26 different countries, so they have no shortage of inspection and condition assessment experience.
Dekra's condition inspection covers everything included in a standard vehicle inspection. The car is thoroughly examined – emissions are measured, brakes are tested, the car is lifted and the undercarriage components are inspected to ensure no play is detected. Any deficiencies are recorded, and photographic evidence along with a repair recommendation is provided. You'll know exactly even the tire tread depth before making a purchase.
Due to the speed of our logistics chain, some cars may not yet have a condition inspection available even though they are already listed for sale on our website. These cars are often on their way to Finland, and as soon as they arrive in the country and at our logistics center, they go through a condition inspection.
Condition Inspection of Domestic Used Cars by A-Katsastus
Cars that come to Saka as trade-ins or are purchased in Finland from private sellers or other dealerships are condition inspected by the Finnish company A-Katsastus. A-Katsastus is one of the earliest Finnish operators to have conducted the first vehicle inspections in the early 1900s.
The condition inspection performed by A-Katsastus is similar to a standard vehicle inspection, but instead of an official inspection certificate, you receive an even more detailed description of any potential issues and the overall condition of the car. If any deficiencies are found, illustrative photos are taken and the person conducting the inspection provides a repair recommendation. The inspection also measures tire tread depths, and you receive general photos of the car and its underside.
